In fact, its Slimness is the USP of the game console. The Slim also has a lower price tag and it is cooler than the previous versions. This is because it has the new Cell processor that does not heat quickly even after long hours of playing. The hard disk space has also been increased to 120 GB from the previous 80 GB version.
The PS3 Slim consumes 34 % less power and also takes 32 % less space. The glossy black finish has been replaced by the matte finish. Hence you have lesser dust and fingerprints on the body. However you will find a little bit of gloss on the side panels. The new PS3 logo is printed on the side. The hard disk can be easily replaced with another one without any technical support. The hide drive finds itself in front of the system instead of the sides. To replace the hard drive all you have to do is remove two screws. The Slim weighs just 7lbs and it measures 11.42 x 2.56 x 11.42. The touch screen buttons have been replaced with real buttons. The original 60nm processor has been replaced with the 45nm version.
The PS3 Slim also has a Blu ray player, internal Wi-Fi and 2 USB ports. Even the fan noise fan has become quieter. The Blu Ray can be used for watching movies as well as playing games.
