Sales of PS3 rise

The console went on sale after a few weeks ion September. It is a third Slimmer and lighter than its predecessor, the PS3. The game console sports a textured, glossy finish. Because of its power packed features, the PS3 Slim has been able to outnumber the sales of all its predecessors. The game console is available in 2 popular versions where the first versions is available with a 120 GB hard drive and the second version is available with a 250 Gb hard drive capacity. Apart from the storage space both models are identical in all the areas. The purpose of introducing such big space hard drives was to increase the sales and also compete really hard against its competitors. The prices were also reduced which lead to a steep increase in demand. Even the production costs of Sony were reduced because Sony was suffering from a loss on each unit sold in September 2006. Cost reduction techniques such as smaller sized Cell processor and cheaper Blu Ray disc drives onto a few circuit boards were introduced. This led to a large reduction in manufacturing costs and Sony passed on the benefit to the consumers in the from of price reduction. The new version comes with a cooler version of the Cell processor and features either 120 GB or 250 GB of storage with 256 MB of GDDDR3 RAM, built in Wi-Fi and Dualshock 3 controllers.Weeeeeeeeeee! (Or do I mean Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!?) It was kind of predictable that it would happen, sales of the PS3 Slim have dropped from selling 150,000 PS3 Slim units in the first week of release to week 2 at a steady; 57,056.
