You can buy a PS3 Phat with PS2 BC, but they cost a lot and to be honest, not the most reliable PS3 ever. If you want to play just PS3 games, I suggest the Slim for reliability and just to cut down those electricity bills by a little.

  • i have a fat ps2 backwards compatible 80 gig ps3 which is already running 1 year and still doing great. i'm contemplating to get a slim one to take advantage of its latest electronics. the slim uses only 100 watts compared to the fat of 200watts when playing blu ray games. my main reason is the slim's low power consumption other than that, the fat is a lot better than its slim brother.
  • Always go for the newer version of the product because eventually they will start to phase out accessories for the old one and only make it for the slim

The PS3 Slim is a lot cooler, 33% less power consumption and it saves more space.

Depends on if you want to play ps2 games or not. I
